Abstract

Cet article porte sur l'analyse de l'activité de dirigeants territoriaux en vue de la définition d'une offre de formation adaptée. Il permet de se pencher sur l'activité réelle (et non prescrite) des dirigeants telle qu'elle peut être observée en situation dans leurs interactions quotidiennes, avec leurs collaborateurs et leurs divers partenaires dans l'activité. Il propose une modélisation de l'activité managériale et des actes de direction, montre l'élaboration cognitive de la situation et la construction d'un diagnostic permettant d'organiser l'action. Cette recherche permet d'enrichir la connaissance des processus de direction, en montrant des pratiques plus complexes que ne le laisseraient à penser les théories rationnelles de la décision (encore largement enseignées aujourd'hui) et permet d'alimenter les débats sur les compétences des dirigeants, ainsi que sur les dispositifs de formation au management à mettre en œuvre.
