Abstract

Les capitalismes sud-est asiatiques sont à base communautaire et régulés par les pouvoirs politiques locaux. Ils se caractérisent au moins jusqu'au début du XVIIIe siècle par le commerce d'une nombre limité de produits de base (sans production directe de biens matériels à l'exception de la construction navale et du sucre) dont les cycles d'activité sont majoritairement régis par la mousson. En sus de marge brutes de 80 à 300%, le jeu sur les change (or/argent, monnaies locales) et le recours au crédit constituent les principales sources d'accumulation.
