Abstract

This article analyzes the emergence of the concept of just transition (JT) in the academic and institutional literature in recent years. The concept, put forward at COP 26, can cover different meanings that we analyze in this text. From a general point of view, JT means ensuring that ecological or energy transitions take place in a just way, i.e., by giving an adequate place to each actor in these transitions. The article proposes an overview of the visions of JT in order to understand how actors, industrial firms, unions and politicians position themselves around this new issue.
