Impact et actionnabilité des métaphores dans la recherche qualitative

Abstract

La métaphore est fréquemment mobilisée par les chercheurs en sciences de gestion pour la génération et la transmission de connaissances, mais les conditions qui les mènent au choix d'une métaphore n'ont pas fait l'objet d'études spécifiques. Cet article s'appuie sur une recherche qualitative de terrain dans le secteur médico-social afin d'expliciter la genèse de l'utilisation de la métaphore dans le processus de construction de connaissances. Une description des étapes qui ont mené au choix d'un type de métaphores précède une analyse explicative des conditions de sa mobilisation et conduit à proposer des pistes guidant le recours à ce trope pour les recherches qualitatives de terrain en sciences de gestion. La contribution méthodologique de l'article réside dans l'explicitation des modalités de recours à la métaphore par le chercheur de terrain dans l'interaction avec les praticiens.
