Abstract

L'approche que nous présentons dans cet article vise à montrer comment la prise en compte des brevets des tiers dans une démarche de veille technologique peut être bénéfique pour l'entreprise en termes de performance et d'innovation. Plusieurs travaux (Lesca, 1989 ; Koenig, 1996 ; Burkhart, 2001), ont permis d'apprécier l'importance de la veille technologique, mais, à notre connaissance, l'utilisation du brevet comme instrument de veille n'a pas fait l'objet d'études approfondies (Jakobiak, 1994 ; Walker, 1995), ou tout au moins n'a pas été suffisamment relatée dans les publications académiques. Basée sur une étude de cas, l'étude montre que l'analyse des brevets peut aider les entreprises dans la résolution des problèmes industriels et concurrentiels auxquels elles sont confrontées.
