Abstract

The health and health insurance systems must face the challenges of chronic pathologies and the aging of the population. In the years 1990-2000, a public health policy in favor of the health of the elderly and a health and health insurance system were possible, while the years 2000 to 2010 saw a failure in the care of the elderly and the establishment of the "hospital enterprise". Some health care and health insurance systems are managing to address these challenges by following the model of an integrated system based on achieving the three objectives of the "Triple Aim". These objectives are to improve the health status of the population, increase the quality of care and reduce costs. The author believes that lessons can be learned from this health system for the management of aging.
