Abstract

Le modèle de transition slovène s'est appuyé tout au long de la décennie écoulée sur une approche gradualiste des réformes. Les gouvernements slovènes ont ainsi fait preuve, depuis l'indépendance du pays en 1991, d'une extrême prudence afin de sauvegarder les acquis de la période du socialisme yougoslave, et ont été réticents à appliquer des modèles économiques néo-libéraux. Si cela a été parfois critiqué par la Commission européenne et le FMI, force est de constater aujourd'hui que la Slovénie est présentée aux autres pays comme un modèle de la transition en Europe de l'Est. Ce modèle pourrait servir d'exemple principalement aux pays de l'Europe du Sud-Est candidats à l'adhésion à l'UE et, en premier lieu, aux pays issus de l'ex-Yougoslavie qui ont hérité d'un système économique et institutionnel similaire à celui de la Slovénie.
