Abstract

L'expression française est dérivée d'un ouvrage américain intitulé Market-Driven Journalism (1994), dont l'auteur est un professeur de journalisme, John McManus. Les entreprises de presse - comme toutes les entreprises, en dépit même de leur vocation civique ou de leur portée sociale - sont soumises aux exigences de marché, en particulier celle de dégager des bénéfices pour assurer leur pérennité.
