Abstract

Depuis une douzaine d'années, on observe en France la diffusion d'un dispositif citoyen nouveau : les monnaies locales complémentaires. L'objectif de ces dernières est triple : relocaliser en partie les échanges sur leur territoire de façon à renforcer le lien social et l'économie locale ; orienter les dépenses des particuliers comme des entreprises vers des achats à faible impact environnemental, éthiques et solidaires ; permettre une réappropriation citoyenne de la monnaie. Ces monnaies peuvent ainsi accélérer les dynamiques de transition, dont l'urgence n'est plus à souligner. Cet ouvrage vise à permettre à tout citoyen de comprendre le rôle et l'impact des monnaies locales. Il retrace leur émergence et leur diffusion et analyse les différents défis auxquels elles sont aujourd'hui confrontées.
