Abstract

The recent emergence of digital platforms is one of the manifestations of the digital revolution which is marked by the emergence of the collaborative economy. It gives birth to new types of organizations which encourage the development of new products and services and, as a result, induce new management practices. By studying the "evaluative infrastructure" developed by Airbnb since 2008, which offers its users management devices to support them in marketing their offer, this contribution seeks to define the components and functions exercised by the digital management control system (DMCS) intended for the host-user. It shows how a DMCS presented as a tailor-made control device turns out to be a system that influences and monitors the user.
