Abstract

This article analyses how actors are committing to social responsibility in agri-food chains. The ISO 26000 standard is examined before focusing on French wine co-ops' exploratory case study. The results confirm that social responsibility has to be the backbone of radical changes combining various standards. Because it is voluntary, the role played by managers is crucial for supporting owner-members and coordinating all stakeholders for creating an ecosystem that may reconciles "business in society".
