Abstract

L'ouvrage Modeling Economic Instability, de Michael Assous et Vincent Carret, propose une histoire alternative des débuts de la macroéconomie. A un récit trop souvent centré sur la figure héroïque de Keynes et la parution de la Théorie générale en 1936, ils opposent une histoire qui met en avant le réseau des économètres et leurs contributions de la fin des années 1920 au tout début des années 1950. Ce qui les intéressent n'est pas le développement de l'économétrie mais l'exploration collective, grâce à toute une gamme de modèles mathématiques et dynamiques, des conditions de stabilité et d'instabilité de l'économie.
