Abstract

L'Inde s'est imposée comme un pays émergent lorsque son taux de croissance a tutoyé les deux chiffres au cours des années 2000. Cette performance, sur ces dix années, a placé l'Inde en deuxième position, derrière la Chine, avec plus de 7% de croissance annuelle en moyenne. Le début de l'actuelle décennie a été marqué par une chute significative du taux de croissance du pays à 5% en 2013-2014. Ce décrochage était largement conjoncturel. Il provenait autant de facteurs externes (l'onde de choc de la crise de 2008) que de facteurs internes, à commencer par la perte de confiance des milieux d'affaires (et, au-delà, de la classe moyenne) dans une équipe dirigeante usée par dix ans de pouvoir et minée par la corruption. De fait, le taux de croissance est repassé au dessus des 7% dès 2014 et devance même aujourd'hui celui de la Chine...
