Abstract

La panne de l'emploi allonge la durée du chômage, mais pèse aussi sur les actifs en emploi et sur la consommation des ménages. Entre 2008 et 2012, de nombreux pays européens ont connu une explosion du chômage : + 2,5 points en France, + 4 points en Italie, + 8,4 points au Portugal et + 13,8 points en Espagne. La présence d'un chômage de masse dans ces pays a de multiples conséquences : perte en capital humain, modération des revenus pour les chômeurs, mais aussi pour les actifs occupés ou encore baisse de la consommation des ménages.
