Abstract

L'exercice de comparaison internationale des finances publiques est délicat, mais permet de classer les pays en grandes catégories en fonction de divers critères comme le niveau de dépenses publiques auquel ils recourent, la structure de la fiscalité, le montant de la dette… Il en ressort que même si les contraintes d'une économie mondialisée s'exercent et limitent les marges de manœuvre des Etats, la réponse que chacun peut y apporter, en particulier dans l'OCDE, n'est pas univoque.
