Abstract

Les pays qui ont rompu avec le colonialisme ou le communisme inventent de formes nouvelles de capitalisme : prébendier, d'État socialiste, libéral, post-colonial et, plus rarement, de marché. Malgré l'absence d'institutions et de sources de développement endogènes, ils tirent leur force de l'ouverture de leur marché aux investissements étrangers – ouverture conditionnée par des négociations avec les ensembles régionaux que sont l'UE et l'Asean.Comparant plusieurs trajectoires nationales en Europe de l'Est et en Asie du Sud-Est à différentes périodes de l'histoire, cet ouvrage examine les interactions entre le marché, la bureaucratie et les formes de domination politique. Il montre comment se construisent les marchés économiques sous l'effet de la violence exercée par les coalitions politiques, souvent en relation avec des partenaires étrangers.
