Abstract

La récolte des produits forestiers non ligneux et leur commercialisation constituent des activités économiques qui sont répandues au Kwango et qui servent à assurer la sécurité alimentaire en luttant contre la faim, à procurer des revenus nécessaires au financement des dépenses ménagères et à effectuer des soins de santé. Ces PFNL sont variés et les principaux sont le mfumbwa (Gnetum africanum) et les mikwati (chenilles). La récolte de ces produits forestiers pose un problème de durabilité de l'exploitation des ressources forestières. Dès lors, il est recommandé d'encourager les tentatives d'ensemencements des chenilles à l'aide des œufs, de sanctionner sévèrement des incendies malveillants des brousses et des forêts, ainsi que de financer des projets de plantation de Gnetum (mfumbwa) à l'instar de ce qui est fait au Cameroun depuis le début des années 2000.
