Abstract

The peace seemed to open a boulevard to the companies active in the colonial ultramarines. The reconstruction of their stocks, the development of the investments, the emergence of projects to value the agricultural, forest and mining resources, but also the creation of numerous companies, expressed this optimism and an entrepreneurial spirit, themselves fruits of an economic patriotism intended to guarantee, in the empire also, the power of France in the economy of the post-war years. But a grave recession shook these faiths, made undergo big losses, and forced to define more relevant growth strategies.
