L'épargne et l'endettement des exploitants agricoles : une étude économétrique à partir de données d'enquêtes

Abstract

Dans cette note sont étudiés les facteurs influençant le comportement d'épargnant et d'emprunteur de l'exploitant agricole. Quelques hypothèses basées sur une réflexion théorique sont présentées dans un premier temps. Elles sont ensuite confrontées aux résultats d'une analyse économétrique. Le modèle employé est celui de la régression linéaire multiple et les données relatives à l'année civile 1965, proviennent de deux échantillons aléatoires d'exploitants agricoles. Il ressort de l'analyse que le montant du revenu agricole explique pour une grande partie celui de l'épargne, et que le patrimoine et la surface de l'exploitation jouent également un rôle. Les emprunts contractés servent exclusivement à financer les investissements de l'entreprise, la propension à s'endetter dépendant de l'âge du chef d'exploitation.
