Abstract

This study deals with the conditions of exploitation of agro-food products of terroir. She suggests some elements of reflection on the way of valorisation of the olive oil of the Kabyle area and of emergence of label of quality and typicality. This in the objective to inform the consumer in terms of quality across a collective brand or a geographical indication. It is to identify the standards for the selection of an approach of information to the consumer of these products for the local market in a prime time and for the external market in a second time. This work will serve as a basis for reflection on a possible qualification of the olive oil of the Kabyle area and a recognition of olive products in Algeria through a IG and/or a collective brand. It exposed in a first time, a current situation of the olive oil sector in Algeria, and in a second time the challenges and prospects for the qualification of the olive oil of the Kabylia area. This work provides of outlook for future research.
