Abstract

Les coopératives agricoles constituent un mode d'organisation original, dont la gouvernance démocratique est également orientée vers la communauté au sens large. Dans ce cadre, nous examinons dans quelle mesure une dimension partenariale plus affirmée envers les acteurs extérieurs est porteuse de création de valeur pour la coopérative. Grâce à une enquête originale auprès d'un échantillon représentatif de caves coopératives du Languedoc-Roussillon, nous analysons leur mode de gouvernance partenarial, leur taille et leur performance, ainsi que les effets des deux premiers concepts sur le troisième, grâce notamment à un modèle d'équations structurelles. Il ressort de ces travaux que les interactions fréquentes et nombreuses entre les coopératives vinicoles et leurs parties prenantes externes sont sources de performance supplémentaire sur le long terme, effets auquels viennent s'ajouter ceux de la taille. Ces résultats constituent une avancée notable dans l'étude de la gouvernance coopérative et permettent d'envisager des améliorations organisationnelles au sein des coopératives vinicoles.
