L'exode agricole : étude socio-économique

Abstract

La chute de la population agricole française a été telle dans le passé que le volume annuel de l'exode agricole diminue maintenant dans toutes les régions et diminuera de plus en plus. Il n'en reste pas moins qu'en particulier dans la France de l'Ouest, les transferts des travailleurs de la terre et de leurs enfants seront encore, pendant au moins 10 ans, un fait économique et social important, à la fois pour l'agriculture et l'ensemble de l'économie. Ce flux de travailleurs hors de l'agriculture est-il inéluctable ? Qui part et pourquoi part-on ? Comment s'insèrent les ex-paysans dans la société industrielle et urbaine ? L'exode agricole entraîne-t-il une désertification de certaines zones ? Les développements qui suivent s'efforcent de faire le point sur ces diverses questions.
