Abstract

Cet article propose une revue de quelques applications de l'approche néo-classique a la croissance régionale, en insistant sur sa souplesse. La première partie est consacrée au modèle simple a un secteur qui a été élaboré dans les années soixante. Il repose sur des hypothèses fortes et engendre un processus convergent d'évolution des inégalités régionales. Dans la seconde partie, les hypothèses sont allégées. En particulier, l'hypothèse d'une fonction de production a rendements constants commune a l'ensemble des régions est abandonnée. Le modèle peut alors engendrer aussi bien un processus divergent qu'un processus convergent d'évolution des inégalités régionales. La question du conflit entre équité régionale et efficacité est abordée dans la troisième partie.
