Capital, income and financing for farms specialized in bovine meat production

Abstract

Le systeme bovin allaitant specialise exige autant de capital d'exploitation par unite de cheptel que la production laitiere pour un revenu moindre et tres fluctuant. La part du cheptel est preponderante avec environ 60 pour cent du total. Le rapport capital/revenu est superieur a 10 en annee moyenne. Les facteurs de variation du capital d'exploitation engage ne sont pas la longueur du cycle de production mais le niveau d'intensification (nombre d'UGB par ha SFP), le degre de modernisation et sa date de realisation. La part du revenu immobilisee est elevee, d'un tiers a la moitie d'apres des bilans interannuels etablis dans des elevages Charolais en developpement. Compte tenu de la faible tresorerie restant disponible pour la famille, le recours a un endettement croissant est devenu inevitable. On peut s'interroger sur les possibilites de reussir une nouvelle extensification avec ces systemes et dans les zones defavorisees, a moins d'un changement considerable pour alleger l'ensemble des charges de structure.
