Quasi-fixed factors and production theory : the case of self-employed labour in French Agriculture

Abstract

L'objectif de ce papier est de montrer qu'il est important de prendre en compte la fixité à court terme de certains inputs dans tout essai de modélisation de la technologie agricole française. Les hypothèses de quasi-fixité du facteur travail familial et de fixité au niveau agrégé du facteur terre conduisent a adopter dans un premier temps un cadre d'équilibre hicksien de court terme. Le théorème de l'enveloppe permet, dans une seconde phase, de calculer le niveau optimal hicksien de travail familial et de décrire la technologie en ce nouveau point d'équilibre. Les possibilités de substitution entre facteurs, à court terme et à long terme, sont enfin commentées.
