Abstract

Les auteurs analysent dans quelle mesure la localisation des productions agricoles dans l'Union européenne est déterminée par l'évolution de la localisation de la demande communautaire. L'analyse empirique développée s'appuie sur des travaux théoriques menés dans le champ de l'économie géographique. Les productions agricoles tendent à ce concentrer près de la demande selon un schéma de minimisation des coûts d'accès au marché. La localisation des productions fortement soutenues dans le cadre de la politique agricole commune est moins dépendante des coûts de transport. Ces productions (lait, viande bovine et céréales) sont moins concentrées géographiquement que les produits non soutenus.
