Abstract

Avec le développement des outils informatiques et des réseaux de télécommunications, le mot virtuel s'est largement diffusé en dehors de la sphère technique pour entrer dans le langage courant, sans que sa définition soit partagée par tous. Univers virtuels et environnements collaboratifs montre comment la virtualité, instrumentalisée par le large spectre des services informatiques disponibles, est appréhendée aussi bien par les individus que par les organisations, dans leurs environnements d'action et de réflexion. Le concept de virtualité se retrouve dans les systèmes informatiques de traitement de l'information, la collaboration médiate avec ou sans avatars, l'apprentissage, les structures des organisations ou la neurobiologie. Il amène à s'interroger sur la réalité et en particulier sur sa temporalité par rapport à l'espace.
