Abstract

Le canton de Saint-Jean Brévelay dans le Morbihan constitue un secteur où les transformations agricoles se sont révélées particulièrement importantes depuis 1950. Deux forces socio-économiques ont joué à cet égard un rôle essentiel : l'aviculture industrielle et la vulgarisation agricole de groupe. La description minutieuse des conditions dans lesquelles ont été ainsi impulsées l'intensification agricole et la spécialisation dans les productions animales fournit un éclairage original sur les mécanismes qui sont à l'origine de la modernisation de l'agriculture en Bretagne.
