Abstract

ll n'est plus besoin de démontrer l'intérêt heuristique, pédagogique et pragmatique de l'expérimentation scientifique dans de nombreuses disciplines, où la manipulation expérimentale est un des moyens des plus radicaux d'appréhension et de compréhension des phénomènes. Le domaine de l'économie et notamment celui de la gestion des entreprises se prête fort mal à l'expérimentation directe, tant les données et options sont nombreuses, voire mal connues, et les conséquences lourdes de risques. Le développement récent des méthodes de simulation de gestion permet en partie de lever ces difficultés. Un simulateur de gestion semble, dans le cadre d'un enseignement agronomique, le laboratoire expérimental nécessaire à l'appréhension d'un système complexe tel une entreprise. On peut ainsi confier la gestion d'une exploitation fictive à des petits groupes d'étudiants durant un certain nombre de périodes consécutives. C'est dans cette optique que la Chaire d'Economie Rurale s'est forgé un tel outil, dont on présentera ici les caractéristiques essentielles.
