Abstract

À en juger par le poids que représentent les PME, en termes d'emplois et de création de richesse, nul doute que ces entreprises, prises dans leur diversité, sont le coeur de l'économie réelle. À en juger par la place qu'occupent la création et l'innovation dans nos sociétés contemporaines, l'entrepreneuriat est devenu le moteur de l'économie nouvelle. Pourtant, en dehors de la destruction créatrice de Joseph Schumpeter, l'un des auteurs qui a le plus popularisé la fonction d'entrepreneur, les connaissances aujourd'hui accumulées en entrepreneuriat, véritable discipline, demeurent largement méconnues du grand public et des élites. Ce livre comble ce vide. En rendant compte des conceptualisations et des théories produites par un large panel d'auteurs dans ce champ majeur pour le développement de notre économie et de la compétitivité de nos entreprises, ce livre a une visée académique mais aussi une portée politique, il explique les ressorts et les enjeux de la société entrepreneuriale de ce début de XXe siècle.
