Abstract

Le travail utilise la fonction distance directionnelle définie par Chung et al. (1997) pour évaluer la performance productive et environnementale des exploitations porcines françaises. Le cadre d'analyse introduit la pollution azotée comme un bien co-produit faiblement éliminable car soumis à une réglementation environnementale et mesure la performance des exploitations dans une direction qui permet une augmentation de la production uniquement lorsque la pollution peut être réduite dans la même proportion. Les sources de cette performance sont ensuite déclinées en efficacité technique, efficacité d'échelle et efficacité environnementale.
