Abstract

Partout en Occident, les décideurs publics cherchent à tirer le plein potentiel de leur réseau de la santé selon les critères de qualité des soins, d'accessibilité des services et de contrôle des coûts. Pour concilier cette triade, un des axes d'amélioration qui s'est répandu progressivement ces 20 dernières années dans les établissements est de rehausser la performance des activités périphériques à la prestation de soins, entre autres celles associées à la logistique. En effet, un établissement de santé aura à acquérir une diversité de produits (fournitures médicales, médicaments, produits alimentaires, produits de nettoyage…) et à les distribuer par une multitude de réseaux vers ses différents services utilisateurs. Ces flux doivent être gérés efficacement pour assurer des actes de soins de qualité. Ces initiatives peuvent être recoupées sous le concept de « logistique hospitalière ». Petite histoire de cette évolution via l'expérience du réseau public de la santé de la province de Québec…
