Abstract

This issue of Sciences de la Société (No. 57, October 2002) addresses various institutional problems related to forms of governance adapted to sustainable development. It focuses in particular on participatory modalities involving stakeholders in sustainable development policies applied at the regional level (variety of agricultural holdings and rural development, role of the rural territory in development dynamics), a sector of activity (role of the multifunctionality of agriculture in particular) or a natural resource (water).
