Abstract

Depuis 2012, le groupe du textile et de la chaussure Vivarte enchaîne plans sociaux et restructurations. Comment ne pas voir, derrière ce gâchis industriel et social, le rôle de l'industrie financière ? « Un savetier chantait du matin jusqu'au soir ». Ce faisant, il tire de sa somnolence un financier, auquel la peur de se faire voler a ôté le sommeil. Ce dernier donne 100 écus à l'artisan, qui en perd et le dormir et la joie de vivre. Quelque temps plus tard, le savetier rend l'argent, afin de retrouver « ses chansons et son somme ». Aujourd'hui, quelle fable écrirait La Fontaine ? Le savetier du XVIIe siècle a cédé la place à une industrie mondialisée de la chaussure, économiquement insérée dans des chaînes de valeur globales. Une industrie en prise également avec le déploiement de logiques financières qui se sont sophistiquées depuis le XVIIe siècle. Ces dernières canalisent non seulement la valeur au profit des actionnaires et des investisseurs – au détriment des acteurs sociaux et sociétaux – mais changent également les règles du jeu. Le cas du groupe Vivarte est à ce titre emblématique.
