Abstract

Al igual que la mayoría de los países de la región, Argentina se replantea su avenir en lo que respecta a la oferta energética, una cuestión central por sus impactos sobre el desarrollo socio-económico del país pero también por sus efectos medioambientales. ¿El país debería continuar su desarrollo apoyándose casi exclusivamente en los hidrocarburos convencionales o no convencionales? En éste último caso, existe la posibilidad de explotar los recursos existentes en gas y petróleo de esquisto asumiendo los riesgos que dichas técnicas representan. Otra opción sería dejar de lado las energías fósiles altamente emisoras de CO2 en favor de las energías renovables, desde la hidráulica a la biomasa, pasando por la solar y la eólica.
