Abstract

Le thème de l'inégalité des chances en fonction du milieu de naissance fait maintenant l'objet d'une littérature considérable. Mais dans les analyses habituelles, la catégorie agricole n'est subdivisée ni au départ ni à l'arrivée ; on fait généralement comme si tous les fils d'agriculteurs, toutes les filles avaient la même origine, comme si tous les agriculteurs, toutes les agricultrices avaient la même position. Nous avons à plusieurs reprises tenté d'introduire une stratification au sein du monde agricole, en particulier pour établir à quel niveau se situe, dans cette population, le degré de disparité des chances lors de la vie scolaire, puis lors de la vie professionnelle.
