Scénario agricole pour l'an 2000 : l'exemple breton

Abstract

Dans les trente dernières années, l'agriculture bretonne a connu un développement et une modernisation sans précédent qui placent aujourd'hui la Bretagne au premier plan des régions agricoles françaises. Toutefois, les problèmes qui subsistent, les difficultés nouvelles qui apparaissent, les profonds changements de l'environnement économique constituent autant de sources d'incertitudes pour l'avenir du "modèle" breton. S'interroger sur le long terme est une nécessité impérieuse pour éclairer les choix des décideurs et déceler aujourd'hui les cohérences et les incompatibilités des orientations possibles. Pour essayer de prévoir les évolutions futures, on ne peut se contenter de prolonger les tendances ni de considérer la Bretagne indépendamment des grands mouvements de l'économie nationale et internationale ; à cet égard, l'approche propective qui vise à saisir les phénomènes économiques et sociaux dans leurs interrelations, semble la mieux à même d'apporter les éléments de réponse à un tel questionnement sur l'avenir.
