Abstract

Performance measurement system provides information to compare the current results with the present objectives. As the processes have become more complex, more indicators are necessary to assess the performance of individual processes, making harder the managers evaluation of the global performance of the system. One possible solution to help managers in evaluating indicators interrelationships is to aggregate indicators in an integrated measure. However, besides the definition of such an integrated indicator, it is also necessary to define a scale for it to permit interpretation. Thus, this paper demonstrates a methodology to build a scale for an integrated performance indicator using an optimization algorithm to define the scale boundaries. The methodology is applied in a warehouse scenario for illustration.
