Abstract

Au moment où le management aimerait parfois se penser comme un art, l'art recourt chaque jour davantage au management. La liaison est parfois tumultueuse, toujours source d'interrogations sur les mutations sociétales. Musées et management : vers la mondialisation culturelle traite de questions actuelles et essentielles : soutien des pouvoirs publics à la culture, concurrence des financements publics et privés, omniprésence du monde numérique, éducation culturelle et apprentissage, diversité des comportements et des attentes du public. Au siècle du management, la valorisation de l'innovation permanente, de la performance et du divertissement bouleverse la relation traditionnelle entre l'art, la culture, le savoir et l'intérêt général. L'institution muséale s'inscrit dans une mondialisation culturelle qui met au défi de préserver sa principale justification : offrir à l'humanité une connaissance indispensable de son histoire qui dépasse les mutations technologiques et les choix économiques, financiers, sociaux ou politiques.
