Abstract

How can communication within firms be represented? This article proposes tools helping to have some answers. The methodology is inspired by the Social Network Analysis and is applied to management area. Organizational communication is seen as exchanges network between organizational units (poles). The Multi Dimentional Scaling methods (MDS) are used to draw up the map of the exchanges. The discribed method is applied to study electronic mail exchanges of 26 firms within a holding. Results are presented then discussed. The article ends by presenting work contributions and limits, and by paving the way for futur research.
