Abstract

The wish to minimize his efforts to answer a questionnaire is known with the term of satisficing. It constitutes an important problem for both researchers and practitioners. The aim of this article is to improve the detection and the effects of this phenomenon. The results of a quantitative study confirm the loss of the quality of answers caused by the satisficing. The Instructional Manipulation Check (IMC) appears more effective to detect "satisficers" than the Reversed Item Test (RIT) and the Global Response Time (GRT).
