Croissance et déclin d'une économie avec ressource renouvelable. Le rôle de la population

Abstract

Le but de cet article est d'étudier le rôle de la population dans la croissance et le déclin d'une économie exploitant une ressource naturelle renouvelable. Pour ce faire, on compare le comportement d'un modèle avec population endogène à celui d'un modèle similaire où cette variable est ignorée. Deux cas de figure sont envisagés selon la nature des coûts d'exploitation de la ressource. Il apparaît que la prise en compte de la population permet d'enrichir et/ou de nuancer les résultats obtenus sans population, sans que ceux-ci soient fondamentalement remis en question.
