Abstract

During the 20th century, the issue of labor in agriculture was focused on the decline of agricultural labor force. Agricultural modernization and the crisis of the productivist model had also specific impacts on family, hired labor and the other external sources of labor. The 2010 national agricultural census provides information about the diversity of this labor force and in particular about the contractual relationships. The analysis of the different combinations of labor supply on the farms leads to eight profiles of farms. These results allow to characterize the explosion of the historical model of family farms.
