La place de l’industrie touristique dans l’économie française

Abstract

À partir du début des années 1960, le tourisme fait l'objet en France de politiques publiques d'aménagement du territoire ambitieuses. Il participe au fort développement de la consommation de masse caractéristique de cette décennie et il peut être analysé également comme un prolongement du processus de consommation fordiste. Cet article explique comment la Comptabilité nationale calcule son apport à la richesse du pays, apport substantiel tant du fait des touristes français qu'étrangers puisque sa contribution directe au PIB était de 8 % en 2013. Et, nonobstant la crise de 2008, la consommation touristique continue de progresser.
