Abstract

La situation des populations naturelles de saumon atlantique dans les cours d'eau ou secteurs de cours d'eau fréquentés par cette espèce peut être considérée comme stable depuis 1950; Elles sont exploitées dans 22 cours d'eau du Massif Armoricain, dans l'axe Loire Allier et dans le réseau Adour-Gaves-Nive. Par contre, entre 1890 et 1950 le saumon a disparu d'une vingtaine de rivières à cause des barrages infranchissables qui ont été construits.
