Abstract

La campagne présidentielle française donne lieu à un débat inédit dans son intensité : la France devrait-elle ou pas sortir de la zone euro ? Ce débat présuppose que l'euro a nui à l'économie et à la société française et, effectivement, selon les tenants d'une sortie de la France de la zone euro, l'euro aurait de nombreux défauts, dont ceux d'avoir contribué à un ralentissement économique et à des pertes de pouvoir d'achat pour les ménages français. Est-ce effectivement le cas ? La période d'adoption de l'euro par la France révèle-t-elle des performances moindres, égales ou meilleures que celles obtenues au cours des périodes précédentes ?
