Abstract

A program of sponsorship is presented that follows up on young graduates from higher education who are looking for or returning to work. It seeks to facilitate access to the world of work for certain categories of youth and fight against discrimination. A "research-action" program, conducted at the request of an association that brings young graduates into contact with persons working in firms, has identified four major psychosocial motivations of the sponsorship relation: 1) the "Wow!" effect", 2) the Pygmalion effect, 3) the improvement of relational skills, and 4) the network effect. Taken together, they form a "magic square" of sponsorship.
