Abstract

La chambre de l'enfant apparaît comme un lieu particulièrement riche dévolu à la dyade « parent-enfant » qui regroupe, condense et cumule un certain nombre de dimensions clés pour questionner la culture matérielle de l'enfance. En nous appuyant sur la suggestion faite par Julien et Rosselin (2005, p. 62), une exploration préliminaire de la façon dont sont « conçues » et « vendues » les chambres d'enfants nous a conduites à nous focaliser sur les sphères de la production et de la distribution car elles construisent des mises en scènes explicitement adressées à cet utilisateur hybride « parent-enfant ». Cet article permet de comprendre la place faite à cet utilisateur hybride « parent-enfant » tout au long du processus de la conception d'un produit nouveau chez Gautier, tout en tenant compte des contraintes d'exposition en magasin. Pour ce faire, un outil apparaît essentiel tout au long du processus de conception d'une collection de mobilier pour enfants : il s'agit du scénario, garant de la cohérence du projet durant ces 18 mois de réalisation.
