Abstract

Weighing 10 % of French GDP, construction market is not spared by crisis. Its economic activity persistent decline since 2008 impacts the sector's companies including the architectural and engineering organizations, cornered to adjust their strategic market positioning for regulating the lack of orders. Nevertheless, this adjustment does not often match the organization's internal skills, which therefore amplify their main economic and social issues (Ruat, 2012; Zardet, Delattre, & Petit, 2012). This research was achieved through an intervention research methodology within 23 organizations. It aims at identifying how management skills empowerment helps the architectural and engineering firms reach a better strategic positioning for addressing the construction market, and therefore improve their economic and social performance.
