Abstract

Les annonces de modification de nominal sont relativement courantes de nos jours en France. Souvent définies comme des opérations « cosmétiques » sur le marché boursier, sans impact réel sur la richesse des actionnaires, celles-ci paraissent pourtant appréciées des investisseurs. L'analyse d'une centaine d'annonces de division/regroupement d'actions en 5 ans (2003-2007) permet de mieux cerner les tenants et aboutissants de ces opérations financières. Le double objet de cette contribution est d'apprécier d'une part les modalités et la motivation des dirigeants d'entreprises à les mettre en place, d'autre part il s'agit d'étudier leur visibilité dans la presse spécialisée et l'intérêt qu'y accordent les investisseurs sur le marché français.
